"Fancy Nancy" Madame Alexander Doll

In 1923, Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman founded the Alexander Doll Company and now has multiple doll lines including “Favorite Friends”.  Madame Alexander dolls are known for being the first doll series based on licensed characters from literature and the movies, such as Eloise, Angelina Ballerina and Fancy Nancy.  Madame Alexander 18” dolls are commonly marketed through FAO Schwarz.  They can be found in FAO Schwartz, Toys R Us and Target stores.  The 18” doll designs vary in form from all cloth, to sculpted plastic, to a combination of both cloth and sculpted plastic.

Mom opinion: Madame Alexander has been around forever and makes some great dolls.  They have a strong reputation and are very popular.  You can find character dolls as well as regular dolls similar in appearance to an American Girl or Gotz Doll, pricing varying depending on features and style selected.  They typically have a different shaped face and seem slightly smaller in bulk to me.
