Kathy’s 18″ Effanbee 1965 doll by American DollHouses

Kathy's doll from childhood

This was my first 18″ doll over thirty years ago (I said over… if you want exact numbers, well you’re out of luck, my lips are sealed).   It is an Effanbee doll marked 1965 (no I am not that old!!).  It was given as a Christmas present from my parents when I was a kid.  She is dressed in her original dress including her stockings and slippers.  I gave this doll to Caitlin a year ago and she takes very good care of it.  She does play with her and she has a home in the American DollHouses four room doll house.  If truth be told Caitlin has used the doll more than I did as a child.  I preferred Hot Wheel cars.

Mom opinion: Well what can I say… she’s beautiful, but that veil use to drive me nuts as a kid trying to keep hair from getting mussed up!  No mussy hair with Hot Wheels (the ones with the red wheels – don’t know what that means… go ask a Daddy).
